The HTC was established in 1994 when an agreement between the Polytechnic of Namibia and NATH was entered into. The broad objective of the HTC is to provide future and present stakeholders in the tourism industry with the skills and knowledge to improve industry standards and productivity.
The main target group of the HTC includes school-leavers as well as owners, managers and personnel of tourism and hospitality-related businesses. A person entering the formal programme can either go into the hospitality or the travel and tourism direction. Qualifications can be obtained on an operational level or on a management level. The
